1.Scope of specification

This specification covers the design, fabrication, supply, and delivery of Lift package, 12 cars for the South Yarra Mixed Use. It defines performance requirements, materials, tolerances, quality assurance, and documentation deliverables.

The works comprise a total of 12 cars and shall be completed to the schedule outlined in Section 9.

4.Tolerances

All fabrication and erection tolerances shall conform to AS/NZS 5131 Construction Category 3. Flatness and straightness tolerances: member length divided by 1000, not exceeding 10 mm. Connection plate flatness: ±1.5 mm across any 300 mm gauge length.

5.Surface treatment

All exposed steel shall be shot-blasted to Sa 2.5 (AS 1627.4) immediately prior to priming. Primer: inorganic zinc silicate 75 µm DFT. Intermediate: epoxy mastic 125 µm DFT. Topcoat: polyurethane 75 µm DFT in RAL 7016 anthracite grey unless otherwise nominated.

6.Quality assurance

  • Inspection and test plan (ITP) issued prior to commencement.
  • Weld procedure specifications (WPS) approved to AS/NZS 1554.1.
  • 100% visual inspection, 10% NDT (MPI or UT) of full-penetration welds.
  • Mill certificates retained for all material batches.
  • QA documentation pack issued with every progress delivery.

7.Documentation deliverables

  1. Shop detail drawings — 4 weeks before fabrication.
  2. WPS and welder qualifications — prior to first weld.
  3. Mill certificates and NDT reports — on progressive delivery.
  4. Final QA pack — within 14 days of practical completion.

8.Programme

Works shall commence no later than 14 days after release for manufacture. Progressive deliveries shall align with the construction program.
